THE Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Fans’ Club International has rejected a call by the Northern Elders Forum that the President should not attempt to partake in the 2015 presidential race, stressing that the call was ethnically biased, unpatriotic and unconstutional.
According to the South West Coordinator of the Club, Deacon Samson Olusegun Olalere, the reason advanced that unless the Chibok girls were brought back to their parents, the president should not contest, was illogical in view of the commitment of the president in that regard.
“The call by the Northern Elders Forum is laden with high level of hyprocrisy, ethnic bigotry and lack of understanding of the running of government. Above all, it was an exposition of the plot against Mr. President by the Northern Elders Forum,” Olalere stated.
The coordinator said that it was a ploy to achieve their initial resolve to make the country ungovernable for the President.
“This stance must be outrightly condemned by all well-meaning Nigerians. We are however relieved by the fact that millions of Northern Nigerian citizens strongly disagree with the parochial view of the Northern Elders Forum, as exhibited in the comment of the an elderstatesman of the Northern extraction, Tanko Yakasai, who condemned the statement of the Northern Elders Forum,” he said further.
